I love shooting portraits. I love getting to know the chef, trying to incorporate their personality into the shot, working with the environment. I think portraits are an integral part of a comprehensive photo shoot, pertinent for media kits and press releases and I encourage every restaurant to have a creative chef portrait on hand to send the food writers and out with press releases. (Trust me…people want to know what the chef looks like!)
I was excited to work with my clients Salt 7 on a recent chef portrait photo shoot to welcome their new Executive Chef, Paul.
From smashing salt blocks to the flour toss to portrait shoots that involved tossing 40 pound fish over Paul’s shoulder we had SUCH a fun shoot.
And I’m thrilled with these photos. I hope we can do more creative, fun shoots like this at each of my next restaurants.
